Subject: incredible
wow, what a great dso show. out of the many dso shows i have seen, this definitely ranks high up on the list. VERY high up. The setlist is unreal (we can thank the dead for that). the second set run is flat out amazing.

The sugaree to end the second set was one of the best live experiences i have had. I was (for the most part) sober, but i was jumping, twirling, smiling, and screaming like i was on a wide array of powerful drugs.

The energy in this show is unbelievable. They start with great energy in promised land, and continued to push the energy levels higher and higher till the very end of the show.

this show is proof that dso is one of the best live acts around. many people will say that dso is merely a rip-off of the dead, and aren't worth the ticket prices. but i have to say, i have seen a lot of different live acts (cheese, allmans, mule, raq, and many others) and never have any of these bands given me such a great feeling. This show in particular, is one of those shows.

So anyway, i'm done ranting. but you'd do yourself a favor by getting this show...and seeing darkstar when you get a chance. These guys are not an act to be missed.

Subject: First DSO Expirience
This was my first time seeing Dark Star - and they are on POINT.
First off, I couldn't have asked for a better setlist.

The Promised Land was a key opener - considering venue location.
Mississippi Half-Step - this is one of my favorite songs and having it heard played live with such enthusiasm was incredible.
Other first set highlights included:
Scarlet Begonias - LOVED THIS ONE!
and
Sugaree - Both of these songs were played with such passion and intensity I could only marvel at what I had just witnessed during set break.

The second set is what really got me.
The St.Stephen> Not Fade Away> St. Stephen was wonderful.

Help on the Way> Slipknot was EXCELLENT. I was al over the Norva during this one just grooving with everyone. Definetly the highlight of the ngiht for me.

Encores were EXCELLENT - especially the Eyes of the World.

Anyone who hasn't seen Dark Star perform yet...
They don't want to just play their favorite Dead songs - they want to re create the entire Dead expirience. One which I unfortunetly never got to expirience. But I have a feeling DSO is gonna be as good as I can get and I really can't complain with what I got.
Download this show and take it as proof.

and I mean it was 4/20 cmon

Subject: they rocked out
This show was incredible. Everyone was chanting for them to play more after they finished the Dead's cover and boy did they! The whole norva was dancing by the end...even my 250lb 6'4 best friend who never dances. The slipknot was pretty sweet to.

NOTE to Heads: If you have a copy of their Stella Blue from All Good 2005 (this past summer) I will forever be grateful. Please respond through this site if you do. I want to hear it again so bad.

Subject: Rocks!
Some of the highest energy and precision i've witnessed in person at a show. Dark Star hooked Norfolk up on this night.

Loved the Promise Land opener and Tennessee Jed shortly followed it in good style.

The Sugaree>St.Stephen>Not Fade Away>St. Stephen>Help on the Way>Slipknot>Drum>Samson and Deliah>Slipknot>Franklin's Tower>Sat. Night Skew is Amazing. It was easily 45+ minutes of scathing jams. A must listen for any Dead or DSO fan.

The last three songs were not in the original Dead show that DSO covered that night. They had extra time so they hooked us up with extra songs. What a show. Unfortunately, the keyboardist died 4 days later.

If i remember correctly the show is originally from Oct. 9, 1976 or 8. Enjoy!

Subject: great show
ya this was a great show i too never got to see the grateful dead but i have a shitload of there shows and i go see ratdog and phil other ones etc., but truthfully i enjoy these shows more cuss it sound more like what i want to hear then that damn saxaphone player from ratdog.. this for me is as close to the grateful dead sound as i can get live, i only live about an hour from the norva so that makes it even more of a cool show..i never listen to dark star shows on cd cuss why the hell would i and i know that it will never compare to the grateful dead but it was a good show, probably the only time ill hear Second That Emotion live, also a highlight

Subject: Greatest Live Show Ever?
Thank you so much for uploading this show! This is one of the best concerts I have ever seen - period. DSO treated us amazingly well this night, playing an extended filler that can't be beat - Dylan, Motown and Sugar Magnolia!
